We occasionally get a call that begins 'Help! My screen is upside-down!', this is usually on a laptop, and it can be done inadvertently - it has even been done by cats on the keyboard according to one customer. However, there are simple shortcut key combinations that can put everything back to normal.
If the display has been rotated, it can normally be corrected by pushing the key combination <Ctrl> + <Alt>+ <Up Arrow>.
This capability to invert/rotate the display is a feature of some of the Intel® Extreme Graphics Chipset driver.
The following chipsets are affected:
Intel® Extreme Graphics 845GE
Intel® Extreme Graphics 845GV
Intel® Extreme Graphics 845G
Intel® Extreme Graphics 845GL
Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 865G
Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 865GV
Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 855GM
Image rotation is enabled by default and is activated by the default key combination <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <F1>.
Once it is activated, you can rotate the display with the additional "Hot Keys":
<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Right Arrow>
<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Down Arrow>
<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Left Arrow>
<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Up Arrow>
To disable this Hot Key Feature, remove the check from the Enable Hot Keys selection box in the Extended Graphics properties.
Update 14/01/2010 - I've created a tiny "currency keys" program which, when running allows you to press CTRL+1,2,3,4 or 5 for ¥,€,£,$,¢.
If popular I'll create a little installer for it and make it optional to run at startup. Please leave feedback if you like it.
If you need to use symbols or characters not easily accessible on your keyboard you can access them via your ALT key on any Windows PC.
Just hold the left ALT key and type the number for the symbol using the number pad on the keyboard (rather than the numbers on the top line).
Remember that on laptops the number pad is usually located on the main keyboard in blue numbers and accessed via the matching blue 'Fn' key (typically on the bottom left of the keyboard) .
So on laptops it will go something like:-
There are symbols for languages, drawing, punctuation and lots more. Check out this full list of ALT codes in categories.
Access 2007 disables macros by default, and then you have to go through the new "Trust Centre" to find it. Here's the simple procedure to switch it off.
Update 17th November 2010: It has been confirmed that the latest version of MozyHome (version 2_4_3_0-16682) has removed the Network Share support even with the Mozy Network Share Enabler program, so please do not upgrade from MozyHome 2.2.2.3 until further notice.
Old versions of the software can be downloaded from Mozy.

I'd advise people keep hold of the older versions of the software for the time being.
If there is any change to the situation I will post it here.
Update 1st December 2010: A new version of the enabler (v1.12) has been released which addresses the issue with UAC. However at this time it still doesn't work with any version above 2.2.4.0, and this is still being looked into.

Due to the reported problems people have been having with the existing approach below, I have created the following program for MozyHome & MozyPro. It runs in the system tray and checks various Mozy registry keys (not just the one below), and if they have been changed by Mozy, it resets them back to the values that allow Mozy to backup and restore from the network.
Download the 'Mozy Network Share Enabler' here (32 Bit version)
Download the 'Mozy Network Share Enabler' here (64 Bit version)
This is a free program, and is not supported by runPCrun or Mozy, and it's use is at your own risk. It currently works with MozyHome 2.2.2.3, MozyHome 2.0.12.3, MozyHome 1.16.4.0 and MozyPro 1.14.1.6
runPCrun recommend MozyPro for our business clients (usually in conjunction with an in-house backup solution, you can never have too many backups and they are faster to recover larger data volumes). However MozyHome* is a good product in itself for home users and I use it myself for my personal data.
When I initially tested MozyHome, there was a "add network share (BETA)" option which could be enabled. Since I use a Networked Attached Storage (NAS) device for my personal data at home (so my wife can easily access our photos etc.) this was perfect and so I subscribed. Unfortunately updates to MozyHome since have removed this option. When I contacted MozyHome support their (obvious) answer was that "we don't support that".
Since I was loathe to stop my subscription (it was only a month or so before that I'd finally uploaded 40Gb of my personal photos) I had a root around and found that while MozyHome had removed the option from the GUI, there was still an entry in the registry for this option.
All you have to do is open regedit (type 'regedit' at the Start > Run in XP or Windows button > Start search in Vista) and edit the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mozy\optionsnetworksharesupportValue data REG_DWORD = 1
or with MozyPro Desktop Edition (the Server edition comes with network support)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mozypro\optionsnetworksharesupportValue data REG_DWORD = 1
Now when you right click on the top level of the file system

When you click on this, the Add Network Share dialog box pops up.
And the share pops up now in your File System view for you to select what needs to be backed up.
Once backed up, it will also pop up in the Restore view.

Please note that I've found with the last few updates when MozyHome updates itself, it resets this value to 0, but the backup still functions properly. However it doesn't allow you to change the backup settings until the value is set back to 1 and the UNC share re-added. The restore view always works.
Hopefully MozyHome will not change this policy or remove it completely in future updates.
